Tour de Cause will be taking place this Saturday July 13th. This cycling event is to raise money for the Recovery Center of Fairfield County to distribute to drug addiction and awareness programs. The Lancaster Cause (TLC) is a nonprofit organization committed to making Lancaster and Fairfield County a better place in which to live. TLC will respond to community-wide needs by raising awareness, organizing fundraising events, and donating to the cause. Our current goal is to eliminate the harmful effects of heroin and opiate addiction in our community.
Registration begins at 7 a.m. in the parking lot of Ohio University Lancaster, 1570 Granville Pike, Lancaster. Participants can choose from five possible rides that will take them on a tour past the county’s covered bridges.
A Tour de Cause kick-off party will be held from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Friday at OU-L. Residents are invited to enjoy a barbecue dinner from Nelson’s Catering & Events and live music by Lancaster band Bad Influence. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for ages 2 to 12 and will be available at the door.
Buckeye Honda’s own Kent DeLong will be participating in the event as a member of the support staff, following and helping cyclists that might be having mechanical or medical difficulties. Kent will be riding in the upcoming Pelotonia
