In addition to toe-tappin’ music the Festival presents arts and crafts from many of our area’s Appalachian artisans; a beautiful quilt show at the Bowen House; great food; FREE tours of the Columbus Washboard Company; antique tractors and hit ‘n miss engines; Saturday Night has a great parade and, we can’t forget the FREE kid’s rides and entertainment by the world-famous puppeteer Grandpa Cratchet. Located in the heart of downtown Gahanna, on the banks of the City’s picturesque Creekside Park, the 15th annual CBJF offers a three-day cultural celebration for all ages, featuring world-class musicians on five stages, mouth-watering cuisine, regional artisans, amusement rides, family fun and activities that include:
- More than 90 hours of the best blues and jazz music on the Electric Blues Stage, the Jazz Stage , the Creekside Community Stage, Acoustic Alley and the Musical Discovery Zone
- Free, kid-friendly crafts, rides and more in the Musical Discovery Zone
- Rising Stars Competition
- Tickets are $4 general admission. Children 12 and under and members of the military (with their immediate family) are free (appropriate military ID required). $10 weekend passes are available for purchase on Friday evening. Free admission on Sunday between 12-2 pm for each person who donates at least one non-perishable food item to benefit Mid-Ohio Foodbank.
Rhythm On The River
Columbus Recreation and Parks Department welcomes a variety of performing artists to Bicentennial Park for the Rhythm on the River series. Featuring everything from bluegrass to blues to ballet and more, attending a Rhythm on the River performance is a great way to spend summer evenings with family and friends. These free outdoor performances take place at the Bicentennial Park Performing Arts Pavilion, a state-of-the-art venue with architecture that reflects the design of the Scioto Mile Fountain.
Booker T. Jones is a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Musicians Hall of Fame inductee, Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award recipient and arguably the most famous Hammond B3 player in history. As leader of the legendary Booker T and the MG’s, this pillar of soul music collaborated with Otis Redding, Albert King, Eddie Floyd and Sam and Dave during his tenure at the renowned Stax Records label. Since then, Booker has lent his trademark keyboard chops to artists as diverse as Ray Charles, Eric Clapton, Neil Young and produced classic albums such as Willie Nelson’s triple platinum hit “Stardust” and Bill Withers’ “Just As I Am” featuring the hit song “Ain’t No Sunshine”.

To celebrate, they will be unfurling the World’s Largest American Flag! This flag is 255 feet by 505 feet — almost two football fields long!
In addition, this event will feature a FREE concert by country superstar Darryl Worley each day, plus there will be games, food, shopping and more. It’s a picnic, Longaberger style!
